WAT PHNOM
One of the most easily overlooked landmarks by tourists is Wat Phnom. Considered an iconic symbol of Phnom Penh, Wat Phnom Monastery is famous for the legend of a wealthy elder woman who discovered a floating log containing five Buddha statues. The statues were placed on a man-made hill, which was later named after her — Wat Phnom Daun Penh, meaning “Mountain Monastery of Grandma Penh.” Over time, people began referring to it simply as Wat Phnom.
The area around Wat Phnom is surrounded by lush trees and plants that attract various species such as monkeys, chipmunks, and birds. It’s located just a 13-minute drive from Noden Hotel & Apartment.
